THAI Airways has put on extra flights, to help travellers and families.

THAI announces additional flights from/to Thailand across the network including Australia until 06 December 2008.

In addition to special daily flights from Phuket and U-tapao Airports to Sydney direct currently operated by THAI to uplift the majority of stranded passengers bound for Australia and to return Thai passengers to Thailand, the following flights have been operated and further scheduled this week :

Utapao Airport is located in Rayong Province near Pattaya, approx 2 hours drive from Bangkok City.
THAI is providing complimentary coach transfers from the passenger contact centre at the Bangkok Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) that in now operating 24 hours for the convenience of travellers in Bangkok.

In addition, we also aware that many Australian passengers are stranded in Phuket. In order to expedite the return of these passegers, THAI will provide additional flights from Phuket to Perth (Western Australia) as follows :

For passengers travelling to other destinations on the THAI network, these further special flights have been announced for 02 December:

Due to the Airports of Thailand (AOT)’s announcement on the temporary closure of Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang International Airport since 25 November 2008, resulting in a number of stranded passengers.

THAI has continued to operate special flights to facilitate inconvenienced passengers. On 2 December 2008, THAI will operate 34 special inbound and outbound flights for passengers with confirmed reservations on the following routes:

THAI requests passengers with confirmed reservations, departing from U-Tapao to check-in at BITEC Exhibition and Convention Center, Bang-Na, seven (7) hours prior to their flight departure. THAI will provide transportation between BITEC and U-Tapao.

Transportation will be provided for passengers between U-Tapao Airport and Building 5, THAI’s Head Office on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road.
