Often known as "The Island of the Gods", Bali is one of the friendliest destinations for families and an easy place for a relaxing family holiday.
Hotels and resorts are well geared to families, with free kids clubs, large family rooms and loads of family friendly facilities. Babysitters are also cheap and easy to come by, costing just a few dollars an hour. There also lots of villas and apartment style resorts which are a popular alternative to hotel accommodation.
Most families who holiday in Bali will stay near the beach (Kuta or Nusa Dua are very popular, but we also like Seminyak, Jimbaran Beach and Sanur which tend to be a bit quieter), but take the time to venture further afield - visit the cultural centre of Ubud to see a totally different Bali. Surrounded by lush green hills, this town is full of artists, musicians, carvers and weavers and a great place to get a taste of some "real" Balinese culture.
