Dubai Family Holidays with kids

The sheer size of Dubai will capture your family from the moment you arrive in the United Emirates. Dubai is a futuristic city that offers heaps for a comfortable holiday with children. There is so much to offer for families visiting, from some of the largest theme parks on the planet, the biggest shopping malls and who could not miss visiting the tallest building in the word, the Burj Khalifa.

Visiting Dubai for a family holiday with the kids is a must if passing through on your way to another destination. Getting around is easy as taxis and transport is cheap.

How long should you stay for in Dubai on a family holiday? We recommended a minimum of 2 nights stay to be able to take in what Dubai has to offer for a family vacation. Longer and you will be to explore further a field like the Grand Mosque down in Abu Dabi, the kids might enjoy a visit to Ferrari World.

When is the Best time to visit Dubai? October to April it's more pleasant. In January your children may need a sweater! Outside of these dates, it can be unbearably hot!

What to eat and try with the kids

Dubai food has strong Lebanese influence, so if your children love wraps and pita bread, you are in the right place. Look for a local Shwarma or enjoy a mezze shared with the family. The city can be expensive but it doesn't need to be, you can quickly grab delicious local food which is cheap. The hotel restaurants can be expensive.

Families Will Love

There are lots of things to do in Dubai with kids, here are five things to consider and note for your Dubai family holiday.

  1. Tour the old Dubai, take a dhow (small boat)over the Dubai Creek and wonder souks spice and gold markets, or take a futureistic tour of the city.
  2. If you love photography, there is a little hidden gem we found in the Shindaga Heritage Area visit the Sheikh Saeed al Maktoum House which, showcases lots of old photos of Dubai and Sheikh Saeed's family. It's absorbing as it shows what life was like before the building boom of Dubai.
  3. Take a tour into the Desert with Platinum Safari, pick the old land rover tour of the desert and enjoy watching your family won't be disappointed.
  4. Looking for a place to cool off, hit the water parks of Atlantis Palm its a hoot. Tip avoid Friday and Saturdays if you don't like crowds.
  5. Visit the Burj Khalifa at 828 meters tall. If you want a tip head up in the late afternoon to watch the sunset. Though just as the sunsets grab a window spot to watch the light and water show in the lagoon at the Burj Khalifa.
